School Of Mountaineering & Walking Holidays

All walks are guided by Patsy who is a qualified Mountaineering Instructor.

He has 25 years of Mountaineering experience and has vast experience in leading and guiding on the mountains.
Trained in First Aid, he is registered with MCI and has trained with the Kerry Mountain Rescue Team.
Patsy encourages young people and families to take a guided walk and experience the enjoyment
of being in the beautiful countryside. The walks are designed to suit all levels of fitness.

        HILLWALKING COURSES:     Basic/ Intermediate

        Basic:
                •Introduction to Map Reading
                •How to use a Compass
                •Clothing & Equipment
                •Mountain Rescue
                •Basic Mountain First Aid
                •Mountain Hazards
                •Hypothermia
              •6* Nights of Lectures (Each Lecture is 2 hours long)
                •3* Days of Instructed Hillwalking (Each walk is 4 hours long)


        Intermediate:
                •Route Cards & Plotting Routes
                •Camp Craft
                •2* Nights of Lectures (Each Lecture is 2 hours long)
                •4* Days of Instructed Hillwalking (Each walk is 5 hours long)

                *These courses are for both Casual& Experienced Walkers.
                A basic course must be completed before moving onto the Intermediate course.

        GUIDED WALKS:

                4-8 Hour Guided Walks in the Wexford & Wicklow area. There is a total of 10 Routes.
                The fitness and number in the groups will determine the route choice.
                They range from easy family walks to 8 hour hard walks for experienced walkers.

                * Guided Walks are tailored to suit each group. Each walk is set in beautiful surroundings with an abundance of scenery.
                Throughout the walk, you will be given the local history of the area, information on the local flora and fauna on the surrounding mountains.
                Children must be 12 yrs or over for family or guided walks. Basic navigation will also be covered on each walk.

WALKING HOLIDAYS

Sean Óg’s Hotel

Kilmuckridge, Gorey, Co. Wexford is now taking bookings for Walking Holidays with Patsy.
The Walks are 4-6hrs long, depending on how experienced the group.
They cater for Casual, Novice and Experienced walkers.
The walks are in Wexford (Mount Leinster area) & Wicklow (Glenmalure area).

*Transport cost is included in all walks with accommodation.
A bus is organised for all walks with accommodation from/to the Hotel.
All prices are fixed. Each additional child added to the family group will cost €10 per child. Children must be 12 years or older.
